Medical Micro Needling

Using Cellaris Pro X Twist by Dermaroller

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves using a device with fine needles to create tiny punctures (micro-injuries) in the skin. These controlled injuries stimulate the body’s natural healing process, boosting collagen and elastin production, which can lead to smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.

Microneedling is commonly used to address various skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, and stretch marks. The treatment is typically well-tolerated and can be customized for different skin types and concerns, making it a popular choice for those seeking a non-surgical solution to improve skin texture and appearance.

Treatment FAQs

The procedure is performed with the Cellaris Pro Twist pen-like tool, which allows for precise control over the depth of the medical grade needles, making it adaptable to various skin concerns and areas of the face or body.

Microneedling is typically used to treat issues such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, sun damage, and large pores. It also enhances skin texture and tone, leaving the skin smoother and more rejuvenated.

Microneedling is generally well-tolerated, with only minimal discomfort during the procedure. A topical numbing cream is usually applied to the treatment area beforehand to reduce pain. Recovery time is short, with most patients experiencing redness and mild ertythema for a few days post-treatment, similar to a mild sunburn. Depending on the individual’s needs, a series of sessions (often spaced 4–6 weeks apart) may be recommended to achieve optimal results.

Overall, microneedling is considered a safe and effective treatment for a wide range of skin concerns, offering significant improvements with minimal downtime, making it a popular choice among those seeking a non-invasive solution for skin rejuvenation.

What are the benefits of microneedling with the X Cellaris Pro?

Microneedling can improve the skin's texture and smoothness whilst reducing fine lines and wrinkles and minimising pore size. It can reduce the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks and even out skin tone and pigmentation. Stimulating the production of collagen produces firmer skin, improving the overall appearance of the skin.

Is microneedling safe?

Yes, microneedling is a safe treatment. I use sterilised needles to ensure safety and minimise the risk of infection. It is important to follow aftercare instructions and have the treatment done by an experienced practitioner.

Is there anything I should know about looking after my skin after microneedling?

I advise that you avoid hot showers, saunas or strenuous exercise for two days. Also avoid heavy make up for the first two days after treatment. The X Cellaris Pro cleanser and hydrator are recommended as post treatment home care.

Can microneedling be combined with other treatments?

Yes, microneedling works well when combined with treatments such as LED/Infrared treatments or peels or facials. A home microneedling device by Dermaroller can be used between treatments to maximise your results. I can put together a personalised skin plan based on your skin goals.

How many treatments will I need before I see results?

Most people will see a visible improvement in their skin after one treatment but for optimal results, I recommend three or four treatments 4-6 weeks apart.
